What To Do With Your Horse This Winter – January 13th Higher Langdon Barn, North Bovey. A demonstration of things to work on with your horses when light and time are in short supply. With the help of my horses we will look at how our daily interactions, combined with some basic body work, and specific ground work exercises, can help your horse to feel physically and mentally better. Spending some time getting things really good on the ground can have a hugely positive impact on our experiences when we get into the saddle. 11am-2pm. £15 per person, booking essential. Massage and Movement – January 26th Tall Trees Arena, Camelford, Cornwall A one day clinic combining body work you can do yourself, classical approaches to training, both in- and under saddle, and ground work exercises. Understand more about your horses individual crookedness and balance issues and what you can do to address these. Soft and Sound Clinic – February 18th Conquest Centre, Taunton, Somerset. A chance to spend time on whatever is most important for you and your horse!! From issues of horsemanship on the ground, to perfecting your lateral work, this clinic is for you. My approach focuses on showing the horse ‘How to’ for himself, without the use of gadgets or force. Suitable for all horses and riders. £55 per individual session, plus group theory.
Soft and Sound Clinic –March 10-11th. Higher Langdon Barn, Dartmoor. Two days to really immerse yourself in working with your horse. The focus of the two days will be on improving posture, balance and movement, with the aim of creating happier, sounder riding horses, Suitable for young or green horses as well as those more established under saddle. £160 person including one nights grass livery.
The Art of Hacking Intensive. March 31st & April 1st. Dartmoor. Kick start your spring and summer riding with a two day clinic looking at the things you need to understand and teach to produce excellent hacking horses. From riding calmly with other horses; to opening gates; being mounted from anything; developing the balance and proprioception to deal with challenging terrain – schooling our horses creates great trail riding partners. £160 per person including one nights grass livery.
Open lesson days at Higher Langdon. Once a month there will be a day reserved for lessons here on Dartmoor. Booking required. £40 per lesson. Dates are; Sunday 21st January; February 11th; March 4th; April 15th. Ground work and in hand lessons are available with my horses.
